A Prolog is held each time one year before the actual Klausenrace. This serves as a platform to launch the Klausenrace of the following year; on the other hand, the Prolog is to be understood as an independent event, which reflects the spirit of Klausenrace:
Fans of classic car culture experienced an extraordinary journey through the milestones of automotive history on a tour of Switzerland. They came from near and far to take part on the prologue. There had been some highlights of classic cars. to name some, a Bugatti T35, a Talbot-Lago T 150 C, an Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS Corsa, an Amilcar CGSS, a Brasier racing car from 1908, some Riley and Alvis, as well as some pre-war cars from Ford, Fiat and Rolls-Royce.
Media representatives who witness the entire event as participants found Prolog an exclusive platform.
The cantons of Uri and Glarus were closely integrated into the event and presented as the host to the spectators. Thus, cultural and historical backgrounds of Uri and Glarus can be shown at the Prolog and the Klausenrace and the two cantons be introduced as attractive destinations.It is intended to make the Klausenrace one of the major events for classic car races all over Europe.
The motto "Innovation based on tradition" shall be a living experience during the event. Thus, not only classic cars should be represented at the event, but also Future Cars, showing how the history of the automotive industry is complemented by innovative milestones.
During the event not only the traditional automobility is celebrated but also its future by way of an exhibition.
The Prolog included a tour of the milestones in the automotive industry. During the drive from Glarus over the Klausen pass to Altdorf, the participants experienced the spirit of legendary former Klausenraces, but also encounter issues, such as innovation, automobility and sustainability.
Upon arrival at Altdorf, a dinner and an extensive entertainment programme awaited the guests, who can let the day unwind in an atmosphere of music and stage acts until the late night.
