The Klausen pass

The Klausen pass (summit 1,948 m) is a pass in Switzerland, which connects the cantons of Uri and Glarus. It extends from Altdorf (Uri canton) through the Schächten valley over the top of the pass and the Urnerboden up to Linthal (Glarus canton). At the summit of the pass runs the border between the Uri town Unterschächen and the Urnerboden belonging to Spiringen. The route of the Klausen pass is quite challenging. The Klausen pass area is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful pass landscapes in Switzerland. The route takes you along the high route of the Schächen valley, past stunning landscapes, majestic mountains and a unique flora and fauna. (wiki)
